Why do I need to hire a drone pilot?

1. FAA compliance-A drone pilot will know where they can fly, how high, what area to avoid, how to get permission in restricted airspace, and eliminate heavy fines by the FAA.

If you're a Realtor and you hire an uncertified drone pilot to capture aerial footage of your property, you may be assessed heavy FAA fines per incident/flight. The uncertified drone operator would pay less. If you are a realtor using your own drone without part 107 certification, you would be assessed both fines.

FAA Proposed $341,413 in Civil Penalties Against Drone Operators
Aug 23, 2024 · Drone operators who conduct unsafe or unauthorized operations face fines up to $75,000 per violation, an increase included in the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024. The FAA also can suspend or revoke drone operators’ pilot certificates.

2. Safety Licensed drone pilots spend hours learning FAA regulations. Rules were put in place to keep both people and air space safe. A licensed drone pilot makes safety a priority.

3. Liability Insurance-Although the law may not require a drone operator to carry liability insurance, a professional and credible drone pilot will have their own, giving everyone a peace of mind. Homeowners insurance may not cover drone use for recreational pilots.
